Student counselling

School counsellors are experienced teachers who have a degree in psychology and post-graduate qualifications in school counselling. They can work with students of all ages and their families, throughout their school years.

For information in community languages see school counselling service.

The school counsellor can also assist students who may be feeling extremely sad or anxious. Contact us if you would like to make an appointment.

It is important to seek help early if you notice any major change in your child's behaviour.

At Mosman Public School

The counsellor's services are available to parents, teachers and students to assist with educational and behavioural guidance. Parents will be advised if the counsellor's support is sought in respect of a student and their permission will be obtained prior to the child meeting or being assessed by the counsellor. Parents may seek counsellor support through their class teacher/principal. Phone the school to arrange an appointment.

The school Learning Support Team meets regularly to review and discuss individual student needs. The school counsellor is a member of the Learning Support Team.
